Pearson, the company that administers the PCAT exam, offers accommodations for those with disabilities under the ADA. There are no additional costs associated with these accommodations, but there is additional paperwork.

Applying for Accommodations

What you will need to provide

When registering for your PCAT, you will need to indicate that you require an accommodation. You will then need to submit the required documentation for review. These documents can be sent via mail, email, or fax.

You will need:

  • A signed HIPPA Consent Form
  • A current letter from an appropriately licensed professional. This letter must be on professional letterhead with the title, address, and phone number of the professional. It will need to indicate how your limitation affects your ability to take the PCAT in its format and what accommodations you will require.
  • (Optional) Additional documentation that identifies the disability and necessary accommodations
Where to send the documents

If you’re sending documents by:

email: Scoring.Services@Pearson.com

fax: 1-800-727-0811 or 1-800-999-5941

mail:    NCS Pearson, Inc

PCAT Customer Relations

19500 Bulverde Road

San Antonio, TX 78259

When to send the documents

It can take up to 60 days for the accommodations request to process, so it is highly suggested that you get all of your documentation in by the “Register and Schedule By” deadline for your testing window. They should be received no later than the “Late Register and Schedule By” deadline.

Appeals

If your request is denied for some reason, you can appeal the decision. You will need to request an appeal by emailing Scoring.Services@Pearson.com within 7 business day of receiving notification of the decision. You will receive a new decision within about two weeks.
