The premiere law school in the state, the University of Michigan’s Law School is ranked #11 in the country, known in particular for its extremely high graduate employment and bar pass rates, which sit at 95.9% and 93.2%, respectively. It’s a large institution, with approximately 935 total students, and a balanced student-to-faculty ratio of ten to one. Not surprisingly, it’s also tough to get into, with a 28.0% acceptance rate and a median LSAT score of 168 – you’ll need to study hard if you want to attend.

Though not ranked quite as high as the University of Michigan, Michigan State University’s law schoolstill has a place among the nation’s top 100 law schools, and actually boasts a higher graduate employment rate than the University of Michigan, at 96.4%. Situated in Midtown, Detroit’s cultural center, Wayne State University Law School is one of the most inexpensive institutions in the State. The majority of its graduates have found employment at law firms all over the country, though it’s also worth noting that Wayne State specializes in business law, including patent and copyright. It is currently ranked 91st among US law schools.
