Private GRE Tutoring in Chicago

It’s an extremely diverse group of students who have to take the GRE every year: anyone from future engineers to future art museum curators has to clear this hurdle before attending graduate school. Next Step recognizes the diverse needs of its students, which is why we have done away with the one-size-fits all approach in favor of a more personalized approach to GRE prep.

Our Chicago GRE tutors have years of experience working with this exam and can bring their expertise to bear by recognizing and pointing out the traps you typically fall into and clearing up your misunderstanding of fractions or quadratic equations or right triangles once and for all. Your Chicago tutor will build a custom GRE plan for you based on your weaknesses and areas of concern. This way, you can get the score you need the first time you prep and move on to those grad school applications.

LISALISANext Step GRE
My son used one of your tutors for the GRE. I wanted to let you know that he improved tremendously. He scored in the 96% in math and 91% in verbal. He was very happy. He was pleased, as were we.
V.S.V.S.Next Step GRE Student
I’m glad that I decided to get tutoring services from Next Step. Prior to registering for the GRE, it had been six –plus years since I’d even cracked open a math textbook. My sessions with Next Step have instilled in me the work ethic and discipline that will be necessary to success in graduate school.
DANIELDANIELNext Step GRE Student
I ended up doing much better than I did last year, raising my scores in all categories and doubling my math score! Needless to say I was very pleased with my performance, and I credit my success to the phenomenal support and guidance provided by my tutor.

GRE Tutoring Reports

At the end of each lesson our tutors write up a short report to record what was covered and to keep track of a students progress.  Check out one of these reports below:

Because the student’s quantitative score on the GRE sky-rocketed on her last two prep tests, we didn’t continue with the planned geometry lesson. Instead we looked at the verbal sections of her last test and worked through – in turn – the vocabulary, short reading, and reading comprehension questions. In the latter two she particularly struggled, so we re-worked each passage paragraph by paragraph together. With a clearer grasp of the passages, she quickly saw her errors. I assigned her homework based on passage comprehension.
