This Public Office Hours session, run by Clara Gillan, delved into the subject of biochemistry on the MCAT exam. With a focus on how this science will appear on the MCAT, this session introduced overall study strategies for MCAT biochemistry content as well as the high-yield topics. Clara, who scored a 525 on her own MCAT, discussed what to focus on when studying as well as several of the high-yield biochemistry topics.
As with all of our Public Office Hours sessions, this was an interactive webinar. Clara presented several sample questions, allowing students to answer and ask questions on mic. Some difficult MCAT-style biochem-heavy passages were also introduced. Clara showed students the best way to work through these passages, what to focus on, and how to find the answer to the question being asked.
If you struggle with MCAT biochemistry questions or have difficulty deciphering content-heavy passages, this session will benefit you.
Unlike the lesson videos included in our class, the Office Hours sessions are not simply a lecture. These webinar sessions are intended to be interactive. Our Office Hours will be conducted by one of our senior MCAT experts and will focus on specific MCAT content, but students will have the ability to ask and answer questions on mic. If you have a question, you can simply type it into the chat box or click the “raise your hand” button and ask.
Our goal at Next Step is to make sure that you have the resources needed to prepare for the MCAT and your future career. This Public Office Hour session is a sampling of what our course students have access to on a regular basis. If you’re interested in our online MCAT course, click here. We also have several practice test bundles, including a free practice bundle, as well as one-on-one MCAT tutoring services. If you utilize our tutoring services or enroll in our course, you will receive customized plans that work at your pace and focus on the areas where you need to improve the most. What works for some may not work for all, so we are doing away with the cookie cutter approach and making sure that your study plan works for you.
