You probably already know that June (or even February the year before you start school) is the best time to take the LSAT. (Here’s why the June LSAT is your best bet). So, knowing that, students sign up for the June LSAT.

However, this time of year a funny thing happens. Students start defecting from the June LSAT in droves. Now, sometimes a few weeks before the test you realize that you just aren’t ready. I’m talking about something different — you realize that taking the June LSAT will mean actually getting started studying now!

Don’t fall into this trap! It’s the easiest thing in the world to let you LSAT date slide. There are so many other things that you’d rather be doing in the great spring weather, right? Or maybe you’re really busy with school? I’m here to tell you — you need to make this date stick. Unless something radically life-changing happened in the last 3 months, this is exactly what you signed up for.

Ok, so you think I might be over-reacting. The October test isn’t so bad right? Right — but the problem is that we’ve seen students who push back a test once often end up pushing it back twice. You need to stay on the wagon. If you’re the kind of person for whom things “just seem to come up,” things will “just come up” over the summer as well.

If you’re planning on the June test, it’s still 2 months out and you have plenty of time to re-focus and recommit (as of April 6…). Make sure you actually use that big June test advantage, rather than having to start all over again in July.

Next Step Test Preparation provides complete courses of one-on-one tutoring with an LSAT expert for less than the price of a commercial prep course. Email us or call 888-530-NEXT (6398) for a complimentary consultation.
